Dance It Out: A Lesson from Toddlers

What if the cure for anger was as simple as turning on a song? 🎶💕

Life’s too short to hold on to anger. Dance it out and let it go. 🎉💛

Anger Isn’t Forever

Toddlers remind us of something simple but profound: it’s okay to get angry. They stomp, they fuss, they cry—but only for a few minutes. Then, as quickly as the storm comes, the sunshine returns. What’s even more beautiful is that their anger isn’t held against us, nor do they expect it to be held against them. Imagine how different adult life would feel if we, too, allowed anger to be brief and forgivable.

Finding Joy in the Release

During my last visit with my granddaughter, I learned one of the sweetest lessons yet. She was upset, and instead of trying to reason her out of it, I turned on a song—fittingly titled Dance It Out. Within moments, her frown lifted, and laughter bubbled up as we spun and twirled across the room. The music didn’t just soothe her; it transformed the whole moment into joy.

Carrying Childlike Wisdom into Adulthood

If we brought even a fraction of this toddler wisdom into our adult lives, how much lighter might we feel? What if, instead of holding on to frustration, we simply chose to let it go—or better yet, to dance it out? Small children often model the healthiest ways of living. They teach us resilience, forgiveness, and how to find delight in the very next moment.

💛 Honey’s Note: Next time you feel a spark of anger or frustration, try turning up a favorite song. Dance in the kitchen. Laugh at yourself. Let it go. Life is too short to hold on to what doesn’t serve you.
