How to Make the Most of Your Euro Adventure

If you're already making the long journey across the pond to explore London, you might as well get the most bang for your buck and add Paris to the itinerary. That’s precisely what I’m doing—and let me tell you, it’s easier than you might think. With a bit of planning and a spark of wanderlust, hopping over to the City of Light is a move you won’t regret.
Here’s everything you need to know about booking and enjoying the train ride from London to Paris, including my step-by-step directions, booking tips, and what to expect on travel day.
Why Add Paris to Your London Trip?
Once you’ve paid for that international airfare, it’s just smart—and honestly, irresistible—to stretch your stay and explore another iconic European city. Paris is just over two hours from London by train, and Eurostar makes it smooth, seamless, and chic.
Even if you only have two or three days, the culture, the croissants, the cobblestone streets, and the pure magic of Paris will wrap you up and leave you breathless. Plus, as someone sweetly reminded me: the next trip is never promised. Do everything you can while you're on the one you're on. Hopefully, you’ll return—but if not, make this one count.
How to Book Your Eurostar Ticket
You’ll be riding the Eurostar train, which connects London St. Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord.

Or compare fares and schedules at Trainline
Tips for Booking:
Book early for the best prices. While fares can start around £39 (approximately USD 50), I found that they typically range from USD 222 to USD 500 closer to the travel date.
I opted for the Eurostar Plus ticket (USD 398), which includes:
A light meal + drinks served at your seat
Extra spacious seats
Free onboard Wi-Fi
2 pieces of luggage + a small daypack/handbag
UK & EU plug sockets
Flexible changes (no fee up to 1 hour before departure)
Refundable up to 7 days before departure (less $40 fee)
✅ Important: Complete your Advance Passenger Info (API) online at the time of booking (have your passport ready!). You won’t be able to access or print your e-ticket without it.
📲 Download the Eurostar app to keep everything organized and at your fingertips.
What to Expect: Day-of Travel
Departure Station: London St. Pancras International
Arrival Station: Paris Gare du Nord
Travel Time: About 2 hours 20 minutes
Step-by-Step: From Hotel to Train
Using my itinerary as an example:
From The Clermont Charing Cross, it’s just a 10–15 minute taxi or quick tube ride to St. Pancras.
For my 10:31 AM departure, I plan to leave the hotel around 9:00 AM to allow plenty of time for check-in, security, and passport control.
Arrive at St. Pancras, follow signs to the Eurostar check-in area, and breeze through to board your train.
Arriving in Paris (1:53 PM Scheduled Arrival)
Getting to the Castille Paris Hotel (near Place Vendôme):
Option A: Métro + Walk
Buy a t+ ticket from a kiosk
Take Métro Line 4 toward Bagneux–Lucie Aubrac → 2 stops to Châtelet
Walk ~10 minutes to the Castille Paris
Option B: Taxi or Ride App (my pick!)
Around 15 minutes, depending on traffic—easy, breezy, and stress-free with luggage
Final Thought: Don’t Wait
It’s tempting to say, “I’ll do Paris next time.” But what if there isn’t a next time?
Life is precious. If you’re already in Europe, go for it. Create the memories. Book the train. Eat the croissant. Stroll the Seine at sunset. Stand under the twinkling Eiffel Tower and say yes to the moment you’re in.
The only trip you’re guaranteed is the one you’re on.
🐝 Honey Tip:
Don’t overthink the details. Eurostar makes international train travel simple, smooth, and chic. Relax, enjoy, and remember—you’re not just going to Paris. You’re making magic happen.
xoxo,
Honey
PS:
If you're anything like me, you'll be wide-eyed with a suitcase in one hand and dreams in the other. So go ahead—romanticize your life! Sit in the plush seat, sip that sparkling water, and glide through the French countryside like the fabulous force of nature you are.
Who knows what (or who) is waiting for you on the other side of that tunnel? 😉
