✨ Headed to Atlanta to soak up every minute with my granddaughter while her parents are in Italy. She’s at that magical age — walking, running, dancing, saying words — and I can’t wait to see the world through her eyes. 💛

I’m writing this from the happiest place — the window seat of a plane headed to Atlanta, where I’ll be with my granddaughter for nearly two weeks. My daughter and son-in-law are off to Italy, which means this little girl is all mine for a while. I’ve been counting down the days for months now.

She’s at that magical age — walking, running, dancing, stringing words together, and letting you know what she wants (and doesn’t want). I can’t wait to see the world through her eyes. To take her places that may be brand new to her — or even if they aren’t, they’ll be brand new to me because it’ll be my first time experiencing them by her side.

And how fitting that September 7th is Grandparents Day. Honestly, though, every day feels like Grandparents Day to me. It’s a love so deep it’s hard to explain, but I know every grandparent nods with a knowing smile — because we all feel it.

The Gift of Grandparenting

There’s a saying that grandchildren keep you young, and I truly believe it. They remind you how to be curious again, how to giggle freely, how to dance even when there’s no music. They keep you tender and remind you what matters most.

For me, I also dream about sharing this joy with someone special one day. I can’t wait to meet the right man who feels the same magic in being a grandparent — whether through my granddaughter and future grandchildren, or through his own. Because here’s the thing: when you come into a child’s life at this stage, you aren’t just a “step” or an “extra.” You’re theirs. They’ll grow up knowing you as part of their story, and that is such a beautiful gift.

A Love That Grows With Time

That’s the beauty of starting a new forever relationship later in life — love expands, families intertwine, and suddenly there are even more little ones to love. To me, that’s not a burden, it’s a blessing. I want all the grandbabies God has planned for me, whether by blood or by love.

This part of my life feels like a grand new beginning. A time to laugh, to teach, to pass on wisdom, to soak in joy, and to let love — all kinds of love — grow deeper roots.

So here’s to this season: to tiny feet running across the floor, to sticky little hands holding mine, to songs sung off-key, to stories before bed, and to hearts that beat with joy across generations.

Because in the end, grandbabies really are the secret to staying young at heart. And oh my, I am loving this part of life.

💛 Honey Note: Grandbabies may not come with a manual, but they do come with giggles, sticky kisses, and a joy that smooths out every wrinkle. PS: They’re the best anti-aging secret I know!
