Hey y’all—it’s Honey.

After listening to a podcast with mentalist Oz Pearlman, I found myself marveling at his ability to “read minds.” While I know his talent comes from years of observation and practice, it got me wondering: How can we tap into just a little of that magic in our everyday lives?

I’m not talking about smoke and mirrors. I’m talking about that quiet kind of intuition that lets you see behind someone’s smile. The empathy that helps you understand what’s not being said. The deep listening that builds trust, connection, and even a little relationship magic.

Because let’s be honest—being in tune with the people we love can be a superpower. But like all powers, it’s not just about what you can do—it’s about how you use it.

🎭

Relationship Magic Isn’t Mind Reading

Let’s start with this truth: No matter how intuitive we become, we still don’t get to tell someone else what they’re thinking. Only they know that.

It’s tempting, especially in close relationships, to assume we know what our partner is feeling. But when we guess wrong—and insist we’re right—we’re not connecting. We’re projecting.

And that can hurt.

Real magic in relationships doesn’t come from guessing someone’s thoughts. It comes from being present enough to listen when they tell us. It’s not about decoding—it’s about honoring.

🧠

Exercise That Beautiful Brain

The mind is like a muscle—it loves to be worked, stretched, and occasionally surprised. Here are some ways to strengthen your mind (and your intuition!):

  • Practice active listening – Really hear what someone’s saying without rehearsing your reply.

  • Observe nonverbal cues – Posture, eye contact, tone, and even breath can say a lot.

  • Stay curious – Ask questions with an open heart, not just an agenda.

  • Play memory games or puzzles – Your brain loves a challenge.

  • Journal daily – Writing your thoughts builds self-awareness, which leads to better understanding of others.

Eat for Empathy and Brain Health

Keeping our minds sharp into our 80s and 90s? Now that’s a goal I’m chasing. Here are some natural brain-boosters to sprinkle into your daily rhythm:

Brain-Loving Foods:

  • Blueberries (aka brain berries)

  • Avocados

  • Walnuts (I’m not a fan, so I recommend adding to a salad or smoothie.)

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Leafy greens like spinach and kale

  • Pumpkin seeds

  • Dark chocolate (yes, please!)

Helpful Herbs & Supplements:

  • Rhodiola Rosea – for mental endurance

  • Lion’s Mane – for cognitive clarity

  • Ginkgo Biloba – for circulation and memory

  • Ashwagandha – to balance stress (because that affects brain health too!)

  • Omega-3s (from algae or fish oil) – for overall brain function

  • Creatine – supports brain energy metabolism (yep, not just for muscles!)

Always check with your medical provider before adding something new—but these can be beautiful allies in your longevity toolkit.

Let’s Use Our Gifts Wisely

The more we fine-tune our awareness, the more powerfully we can love. Not by controlling others, but by creating space for them to be fully seen.

Let’s be the kind of partners who notice the subtle shifts, who show up with gentle understanding, and who never stop learning—about ourselves or each other.

Because that’s the real magic: a curious mind, a loving heart, and the wisdom to know when to listen more than we speak.

With sweetness, strength, and just a little sparkle,
