✨ The Gift of Time (and a Little Change of Heart)

I did a thing… and it feels so right.

I changed my mind.
I changed my plans.
I decided not to rush Paris.
Initially, I was set to spend just three nights in the City of Light. But as I looked over my carefully crafted itinerary—full of museums, gardens, riverside strolls, and glittering towers—I realized something was missing.
Time.
Time to wander, to linger.
Time to soak up the morning light without checking the clock.
Time to sit in a café without plotting my next move.
Time to breathe, to feel, to fall even more in love with life.
So I gave myself the gift of more time.
I extended my stay. I canceled my original return flight and booked a new one. I’ll now be in Paris three extra nights, and instead of squeezing in the magic, I’ll be letting it unfold slowly and deliciously—just like a good croissant. 🥐
Because while I hope to return to Paris many more times, that’s never guaranteed.
But this trip—this moment— is.
This is mine.
This time.
This city.
This version of me.
And I will embrace it all.
Why I Chose to Stay
At first, I was torn. I had a plan. I had a return date. I’d written a lovely itinerary, but I could feel that it was trying to do a little too much in a little too little time. And then it hit me: I could change it.
I’m an adult.
I’m traveling alone.
I’m allowed to change my mind.
And let me tell you, there is something compelling in doing just that—not because something went wrong, but because you realized you deserve more of what’s right.
More beauty.
More breath.
More space.
My (Now Longer!) Paris Itinerary
I’ll arrive late afternoon on a Sunday via Eurostar from London and stay at the elegant Castille Paris until I fly out at 2:40 PM the following Saturday. With this extension, I’ve added a full day in Le Marais, more time to explore art and gardens, a chance to see the sunset from the Seine, and space to just… be.
Whether I’m sipping espresso at Café Kitsuné, tearing a corner from a warm baguette, or watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle (yes, again), I’ll be doing it with presence and gratitude.
The Takeaway?
Change your mind.
Change your plans.
Give yourself the gift of time.
Because sometimes, the most beautiful moments in life begin with the simple decision to pause—to stay a little longer, to love a little deeper, and to live like you mean it.

Need a pause? The Rodin Museum Garden is only €1, and you can linger there with roses and sculptures.
My itinerary is like notes on a napkin, and once I'm there, I can change my mind about any of the plans—again! That’s the Paris privilege. 💁♀️
🐝 Honey Note
We can’t ever go back and get more time—but we can choose, in moments like this, to give ourselves more time for what matters: the things that move us, stretch us, and fill our hearts to the brim.
Extending this trip is more than a travel change—it’s a life shift. It’s me choosing me. After spending a year waiting on something that was never meant for me, I’m now saying yes to joy, to freedom, to beauty, and to the things that light me up.
And let me tell you… it feels beautiful. It feels powerful. And it feels exactly right.
With love,
Honey
Living lively, aging boldly, and never rushing the good stuff. ✨
